Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative (SMECO) has an immediate opening for a Facilities Support and Custodial Services Supervisor. The primary functions of this position will be to plan, organize, coordinate, assign direction, provide training and work reviews of custodial staff and assist support of contractors. Prepares and executes employee performance evaluations; participates in the interview and hiring process; organizes and assigns work, sets priorities, and follows-up to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work; ensures that custodial staff safe work practices and safety requirements are implemented and executed. This position will also manage all scheduled and unscheduled service calls, service contractors, and assist with mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety contractors. Maintain daily custodial schedules. Maintain a working knowledge of safety and security regulations as related to Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and SMECO's Operations and Procedures. Provides assistance and support to Facilities Management and Operations Director in monitoring the execution of Facilities contracts, administrative obligations, and emergency response procedures. Finally, this position will be responsible for developing, organizing and implementing the Operating and Capital Budget. Provides support for the planning, tracking, and submission of the complete budget for Facilities. Prepares all budget documentation spreadsheets to submit to the Departments Senior Vice President for approval. Provides quarterly updates to Finance regarding budget balances.This position requires an Associates degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in business administration, communications, or equivalent related experience in facilities management and commercial construction.Candidates are required to have a minimum of 4 years progressive experience in facilities management. Work experience with an electric utility or in union environment is desirable. Supervisory experience is preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs required.The starting salary range for this position is $68,700 - $89,000. SMECO offers an excellent benefits program including a 401k 6% dollar for dollar match and additional 3% non-elective company contribution.
