Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Facilities Support Engineer in Andover to enhance technical expertise and improve equipment availability and reliability. This role involves implementing LEAN principles and Continuous Improvement methodology alongside the Site Operations Lead and asset management/maintenance teams.
A Day in the Life:
* Perform and support a wide range of engineering and customer support tasks, including field investigations, project scope development, vendor walk-downs, and shutdown coordination.
* Provide occasional project oversight and supervisory roles for contracted resources.
* Foster and promote a safety culture by exemplifying and enforcing site safety procedures.
* Promote a Culture of Inclusion & Equity aligned with Thermo Fisher's values.
* Apply and adapt a wide-ranging understanding of operational principles and practices using current technologies and progressive experience.
* Actively participate in or lead site & corporate initiatives like Communities of Practice and VPP compliance.
* Demonstrate working knowledge of MS Excel, Microsoft Project Manager, CMMS systems, AutoCAD, and similar software.
* Collaborate effectively with internal team members, customers, colleagues, management, external vendors, contractors, and visitors.
* Serve as a field Lead or Project Lead on assigned projects, performing complex engineering assignments.
* Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
* Review PM and corrective work orders to ensure adequate resolution.
* Collaborate with site reliability engineers to ensure consistent and reliable service delivery using advanced analytical techniques.
* Coordinate and develop shutdown strategies with planners, schedulers, and project teams to minimize operational impact.
* Analyze and launch cost reduction initiatives.
Keys to Success:
Education:
* Degree in Engineering required
Experience:
* 1+ year of customer service experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Proven ability to independently resolve routine customer happiness issues.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
* Demonstrated troubleshooting ability to diagnose and resolve problems on sophisticated laboratory instrumentation.
