Position Overview:

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking to hire a qualified and motivated professional to join our Facilities team in the roll of Office Coordinator. This position will research and gather informational material relating to program operations and will assist with special projects and studies. Additionally, this position will keyboard complex and technical statistical data, charts, exhibits, memos, reports and other information.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organizational and analytical to be successful in evaluating the operations of the Facilities Support Staff implementing objectives for improvement, while maintaining working relationships with other governmental professional organizations.

Essential Functions

* Under direction, serves as Facilities Support Staff by performing clerical duties for the Program and Business Services Section in the Division of Child Support Services in Cook County

* Assists with special projects and studies

* Coordinates facilities management for Child Support Services (CSS) offices

* Performs a variety of complex clerical activities

* Coordinates the order and movement of supplies and equipment for Child Support Services (CSS) offices

* Enters and reviews requisitions, vouchers, and forms

* Screens calls for manager and staff

* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two (2) years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two (2) years of related office experience, or two (2) years of independent business experience

* Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 words per minute

Conditions of Employment

* Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history

* Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop

* Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate

* This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567 (d)). Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
