The Facilities Support Technician assists in the cleaning and maintaining of agency properties, as assigned, Monday-Friday, 1:00p - 9:00p, under the general direction of the Director of Facilities, and worksite guidance of Maintenance and Custodial Technicians.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Performs daily responsibilities safely, whether working independently or with other team members.
- Performs extra cleaning of specified areas for special events, trainings, etc.
- Safely and efficiently uses tools including drills, saws and other basic equipment. Safely drives a variety of vehicles, including but not limited to pick-up trucks and tractors.
- Maintains a clean, sanitized, professional, welcoming appearance from all designated buildings including, but not limited to CCHO's Main Campus and Eagle Pass buildings.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment, as directed, including, but not limited to repair and painting of walls, replacing locks, as needed, etc.
- Performs basic maintenance duties as needed or directed, such as changing batteries, lightbulbs, clearing sidewalks, etc. Performs snow removal (and spreading of salt), and landscape upkeep, including tree trimming and removal.
- Assists with the dismantling of defective machines and equipment, installing parts, as directed.
- Assists Facilities team or Custodial Technician with after hour responding to urgent/emergent needs.
- Assists Maintenance Technicians and Custodial Technician, as needed.
- Uses computers, email, etc., and/or electronic equipment to fulfill job functions.
Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and understand/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to perform the maintenance duties listed above.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram. Ability to apply common sense.
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and the internet, including email and timekeeping software.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required with at least three years of experience.
- One year of maintenance/facilities experience strongly preferred.
- Valid Ohio Driver's License and a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable on agency policy, as job may include occasional travel to satellite offices.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear to maintain safety.
- Regularly required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; must be able to smell to maintain safety when using power equipment/vehicles.
- Required to be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception to use hand/power tools, large equipment, etc.
- Must be able to be outdoors in various weather conditions for extended amounts of time.
- Must be able to drive a variety of vehicles legally and safely in the state of Ohio.
