The right Restaurant Hostchecklist will include equal parts curious learner, innovator, administrator, detail driver, mentor, and motivator.The ideal candidate will monitor, operate, and maintain building equipment and structures.Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able display and live out Lead with Love qualities, strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture, by being patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, dedicated and accountable.Summary of Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesMaintain equipment using proper tools in a skilled craftsman-like mannerPerforms assignments as directed by the Director of Facilities and Facilities ManagerAssumes the duties of other mechanics when required, including light carpentry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, electrical, painting, pool and spa maintenance, etc.Performs regularly scheduled guest room preventative maintenance keeping the rooms product in like new condition and of the highest qualityEnsures exterior grounds are regularly maintained and free of debrisEnsure exterior water features are well maintained, free of algae and debrisCompletes regular property tours and inspections, identifying and repairing defectsPerforms preventative maintenance on all equipmentUtilize HOTSOS Work Order System regarding respond time repair request for carpentry, electrical and electronics, plumbing, HVAC, carpeting, and paintingMaintains pools and spasWilling to acquire AFO CertificationRespond to guest room calls and assists guests with room issuesIs a specialist in a specific skill (Electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, etc.)Becoming a specialist in a skill is a prerequisite for promotion to Facilities SupervisorRepair all malfunctioning mechanic devicesManagement reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any timeEducation and Experience RequiredMinimum 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum two-year job-related experienceRequires thorough knowledge of a specialized trade or technical fieldMay require operating knowledge of manufacturing or computer equipmentMust successfully complete a pre-employment background check including drug screenKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust display and live out Lead with Love qualities strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture by being patient, kind, humble, respectful, selfless, forgiving, honest, and committedAble to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employeesMust reflect Dollywood's image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in workMust be self-motivated and disciplinedMust be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basisMust maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged informationMust be committed to continuous improvementMust have professional appearance with good personal hygieneMust promote and support a team work environment by cooperating and helping co-workersMust be able to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentMust maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidaysMust be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to act to meet their needs within company guidelinesMust be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skillsMust show appreciation of othersAble to get along with other employees to work out problems and resolve conflictsAble to comprehend instructions and retain informationAble to perform duties consistent with creating a safe and secure environment for hosts and guestsAble to be flexible to handle frequent changes in prioritiesAble to add, subtract, multiply and divide with accuracyAble to communicate effectively using standard English grammar and punctuationAble to tolerate various temperatures while working outdoorsAble to operate/drive a company vehicle with valid TN driver's license and insuranceAble to meet the physical demands of the job, including stooping, bending, high level of manual dexterity for operating small tools, walking on uneven ground, pulling, pushing, etcAble to meet lifting requirements of 80lbsAble to accomplish basic repairs on HVAC, pool, and other machineryAble to compile objective and measurable data and produce reportsThe Dollywood Company is an equal opportunity employer.
