**The hourly range for this position is $21.50 to $30.35 depending on experience. ** Summary The Facilities Technician supports the mission of The Museum of Flight by providing regular facility maintenance and repairs throughout the main campus and is charged with keeping the Museum clean and in good repair. Areas of responsibility include private and public areas such as restrooms, event areas, storage areas, and office spaces. This position performs cleaning and trash removal of all interior and exterior corridors and provides support for Museum events, special projects, and facilities related maintenance. Events support will include the setup and breakdown of non-permanent fixtures such as tables and chairs, while providing good communication for logistics with internal stakeholders. Additionally, this position supports South Loading Dock activities; receiving, logging, delivery of incoming shipments, and upkeep of other loading dock areas. Keep outside public areas (parking lots, sidewalks, trash and recycle containers, smoker urns, etc.) clean and neat at all times. Provide basic repair and maintenance of Museum buildings, related equipment and systems, including but not limited to: light electrical, plumbing, door operators, furniture systems, painting, and building materials as assigned. Provides support for private and Museum events including setup and breakdown. Respond to facility maintenance task requests in a timely, cost-effective manner and complete all required communications throughout the project using our Museum task management system. Monitor and appropriately respond to department email in a timely manner. Work on long- and short-term projects as assigned by Manager and/or Director of Facilities. Replace light bulbs as needed and directed. Assist with routine checks and basic maintenance to Museum vehicles as assigned. Pickup building related supplies, materials, hardware, and necessary tools when applicable Assist with the distribution of packages and supplies to departments, as needed. Participate in organizing, controlling, cleaning and maintaining loading docks, maintenance office spaces and related areas on a regular basis. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation & Experience
- Two (2) years of previous work experience within Facilities Maintenance.
- A High School diploma or equivalent, preferred. Associates Degree in a related field, a plus.
Knowledge
- Demonstrates technical knowledge of basic repair and maintenance of commercial buildings, and systems including some electrical, plumbing, door operators, furniture systems, painting, and building materials
- Knowledge of various chemicals and materials used in facility maintenance, including but not limited to: cleaners, lubricants, sealers, paints, patching compounds, paving, and construction materials
- Knowledge of safety and security practices, procedures and regulations concerning the proper use of equipment and materials including knowledge of OSHA and WISHA requirements

- Effective in organization; able to plan and prioritize work activities efficiently in a frequently changing work environment with competing deadlines and demands
- Displays effective interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact effectively and positively with a diverse internal and external customer base including via radio, phone, email, in-person and through activity logs and ticketing systems
Abilities
- Ability to complete assignments and tasks accurately and on time
License & Certification
- Current WA driver's license required with an acceptable driving record.
- Able to fulfill in-house certification in the operation of facilities' equipment that include, but are not limited to: forklifts, man lifts, and various motor vehicles.

- Facilities Technicians are at the Museum seven days a week, each technician works 5 eight-hour days during daytime hours; however, requires a flexible schedule including some evening work based on Museum need.
- Occasional local travel is expected for this position.
- Onsite attendance is essential to perform the duties of this position.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- This position requires repetitive wrist and arm movement, grabbing, reaching, pulling, overhead activities, working from ladders, and working outside in inclement weather are all integral parts of the job
- Requires the ability to operate various motorized and non-motorized lifting equipment
- Exposure to objects and chemicals, such as cleaning agents, that require strict adherence to safety guidelines
- Occasionally may work from aerial catwalks, on lifts, and roof tops
- Able to stand on one's feet for the duration of the shift
