To learn more about this opportunity, keep reading! POSITION SUMMARY The Facilities Technician supports the continuous and effective operation of an organization's physical premises. They are responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, repairs, and improvements across a range of building systems and equipment, ensuring that the facility remains safe, functional, efficient, and compliant with applicable regulations. This role often involves both routine scheduled work and urgent responses to unexpected issues. This position is critical to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment, ultimately contributing to the organization's productivity and reputation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety equipment.
  • Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of facility issues, such as plumbing leaks, electrical malfunctions, HVAC breakdowns, and equipment failures.
  • Project Execution: Participate in facility improvement projects, including renovations, upgrades, and installations.
  • Maintenance Planning: Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and occupants. Participate as a Facilities Safety Officer.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and work orders.
  • Event Coordination: Set up and tear down for company events.
  • Janitorial Support: Maintain and clean areas as needed.
  • On-Call Responsibilities: Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency repairs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Requirements EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMID: 5-10 Years SENIOR: 10+ Years
  • Hands on experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or related trades.
  • Proven expertise and/or experience in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and/or general maintenance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing and basic mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, testing instruments, and common maintenance equipment.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools, testing instruments, and/or common maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, arial/boom lifts, and other equipment as needed.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Current forklift operator license (preferred).
  • Vocational or technical training in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant industry certifications, licensures, or trade school completion (preferred).
  • OSHA safety training or similar certifications (preferred).
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • Due to contractual requirements must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be able to pass an initial background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense security clearance. Employee/selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (as required)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Required to communicate in English.
  • Occasional on-call or after-hours work may be necessary to handle emergencies or support special projects.
  • ASI is a Drug Free Workplace where applicants and employees are required to successfully pass pre-employment and Random drug testing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving through the facility.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing of ladders and stairs.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, dusty, noisy areas, both indoors and outdoors).
  • Manual dexterity to handle and operate tools, equipment, and machinery with precision.
  • Adequate vision (with or without corrective lenses) to read blueprints, manuals, identify equipment malfunctions, and complete detailed maintenance work.
  • Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The Facilities Technician typically works in both office and manufacturing settings. The role may involve exposure to noise, heat, dust, chemicals, and moving machinery. Appropriate safety equipment and precautions are required.
