Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our team, responsible for both maintenance and sanitation of our production facility in Hazel Park, MI. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate a dedication to maintaining a clean and functional environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspect buildings, machinery, equipment, and systems to identify any issues and ensure functionality.
- Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
- Plan, prioritize, and schedule repairs and maintenance tasks, coordinating with production activities.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of equipment according to specifications.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
- Help develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies.
- Perform various facility janitorial or maintenance duties.
- Conduct additional housekeeping or maintenance tasks as necessary, including dusting ceiling vents, light fixtures, walls, painting, repairing, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Remove trash and move or cover furniture for deep cleaning tasks.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Physical stamina and attention to detail.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be 21 years or older.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Vocational/Trade training in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Commercial cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
- Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend over, and pick up items and have constant movement for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to lift, push, kneel, and pick up items, both small and large.
- Must be able to use cleaning solutions and properly and safely use brooms, unload trash cans, and other cleaning supplies and tools.

- 11:00 pm - 7:30 am
