Job Description:
DescriptionThe responsibilities of the Facilities Technician within Garden Remedies broadly embrace the key areas described below. Facilities Technician will assist in the day-to-day operations by conducting routine maintenance and maintaining a clean and orderly facility. The Facilities Technician will assist the Facilities Manager in the general maintenance of the Garden Remedies' Cultivation and Processing site in Fitchburg, MA and GRI's Retail locations in Newton, Melrose, and Marlborough. The management team is looking for someone with fulltime availability M-F, and this position starts at $23/hr + benefits.Along with ongoing development of your role, immediate responsibilities will include:Responsibilities:
  • Ability to read, analyze, understand and trouble shoot manuals and schematics
  • Able to manage preventive maintenance, as well as day to day operations of commercial buildings including:
    • Replacing light bulbs
    • Shoveling snow
    • Equipment repair
    • Chaperone contractors
    • Miscellaneous minor building repairs
    • Other miscellaneous routine maintenance tasks
    • Spot cleaning and painting as needed to maintain a clean and professional facility
    • Assist with installations and assembly as needed in Fitchburg and occasionally in Garden Remedies' dispensaries
    • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ability to work with and negotiate with vendors
  • Flexibility within multiple work environments
  • Performs preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC and office equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Customer/client focus
  • Communication proficiency
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Working knowledge of either HVAC, Electrical, Pneumatics, and their commercial application strongly desired
  • General carpentry skills
  • Fluency in computers and applicable programs
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to engage in creating an amicable work environment
  • Ability to comply with all Cannabis Control Commission regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer operating skills
  • Experience working with data and technology systems
  • Experience in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organization and planning skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
