Job description
Position Summary:
The Facilities Technician helps maintain the day-to-day operations and safety of the facilities, overseeing a wide range of building operations and repairs that vary in complexity.
Responsibilities:
Execute a variety of general and specialized facility maintenance and building repair tasks and projects.
Assists in coordinating preventative maintenance for all systems and responds to urgent calls.
Complete weekly building assessments to identify, diagnose, and correct maintenance related issues.
Help ensure compliance with Joint Commission and OSV requirements.
Respond to urgent maintenance calls as well as complete daily maintenance tasks.
Make sure the interior and exterior of all buildings are clean and safe.
Trouble-shoot building, grounds, facility equipment, and life safety systems
Plan and execute improvements to facilities as needed.
Effectively assist with large projects such as renovations, organization sponsored events, disaster recovery, evacuations, and emergency safety.
Test building security and life safety systems regularly.
. Assist in conducting required safety drills.
Provide oversight and guidance to vendors and contracted employees.
Works with Facilities Director to ensure regulations are met and buildings are compliant with all codes and requirements.
Participate in the execution of emergency preparedness plans and safety initiatives.
Comply with all corporate policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules.
Keep a complete inventory of tools and equipment and make sure they are fully operational.

Requirements:High school diploma or GED required, completion of an associate degree or building maintenance, HVAC, or field a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance and/or building repair technician completing repairs with an elevated level of complexity.
Knowledge and skills in basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing; drywall and painting; furniture moves and assembly, building equipment repairs; and other assignments as directed.
Previous experience in a health care environment is desired.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Previous experience using Microsoft Office at a proficient level.
Strong work ethic and positive, respectful attitude is required.
Must be dependable and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Good people skills; must be able to communicate effectively.
Ability to interact with a diverse population.
Valid Ohio driver's license with less than 6 points
