Job DetailsLevelExperiencedJob LocationCorporate Office-Westgate - Watsonville, CASalary Range$85,000.00 - $95,000.00 SalaryDescriptionFacility and Safety Engineer/ManagerRespond to:Company CEO GENERAL PURPOSE of the position:The candidate will be responsible for securing the safe and continuous operation of the company two sites at 100 Westgate Dr. and 235 Westridge Dr. Watsonville, assuring management and maintenance of the structures and equipment in observance of corporate, local, state and federal regulations. The candidate will also be in charge of the Safety of the sites, managing chemical products and waste, implementing and keeping Spectra-Mat Safety policies in compliance with corporate, local, state and federal regulations. The candidate will be responsible for developing a robust process to ensure that all chemical handling and documentation relevant to the regulations are accurate and complete. RESPONSIBILITIES:•Routinely check facility status, identifying maintenance, repair, and improvement activities •Ensure premises security collaborating with the security service company•Develop and implement a program for equipment PM and verify equipment performance in relation to company and process needs and specification•Maintain contacts with eventual outside vendors for the above services. •Chair safety committee•Maintain the IIPP and train on its content new and existing employees accordingly •Insure company compliance with OSHA regulations•Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety and to develop training•Conduct risk assessments for processes and positions•Maintain SDS Sheets and ensure that hazard communications requirements are complied with•Supervise hazardous waste disposal process•Train associates as needed•Write safety documents as needed.•Conduct risk assessment and management for processes and positions•Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety and health programs on premises •Other duties may be assigned, such as Site Safety Officer.•Acting Primary Emergency Coordinator when needed•Update Contingency Plan as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES•This job will have supervisory functions of maintenance crew.QualificationsREQUIRED COMPETENCIES:ASEE or previous experience.Bachelor degree in Safety, Health, or related discipline preferredBachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, engineering, construction, occupational safety and health, or related field?Must have prior supervisor experience.Professional Training in occupational health and safetyProficient in Microsoft applications and experience in PM databases.Leadership abilityCommunication, meeting and presentation skillsComfort with time reporting systemsAbility to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.DESIRED COMPETENCIES:Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers, auditors, and co-workers.
