DescriptionThe Facility Attendant is responsible for the nighttime and weekend operations of Hempfield Park & Hempfield Township Athletic Complex.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle the nighttime and weekend operations of Hempfield Park and Hempfield Township Athletic Complex, including but not limited to front desk operations, answering phones, checking in members, troubleshooting rental problems, and monitoring safety and security within the park.
- Back up to Park Attendant
- Assist with operations of departmental software, including trouble shooting users problems and processing registrations.
- Follow building open/close procedures.
- Responsible for supervising Facility Assistants scheduled during shift.
- Provide support for Parks & Recreation or Township events.
- Attendance at staff meetings and trainings.
- Provide other services and perform other duties as requested by full time Hempfield Township Parks & Recreation Staff.
RequirementsEducation & Experience: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.Necessary Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesThe individual must possess the following skills and abilities or be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential function of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Must demonstrate outstanding customer service skills that align with Hempfield CAREs standards.
- Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, and devise solutions to immediate problem.
- Must possess a general understanding of recreational programs and how they are conducted.
- Skills in operating a computer with general understanding of Microsoft and Windows OS.
- Knowledge and understanding of US currency.
- Understanding English language.
- Must obtain Act 34 Clearances, CPR and First Aid within six weeks of employment.

Hand eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office and park equipment. The employee must have a driver's license and a safe driving record. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 35 pounds. Occasional opportunities will be available for daytime coverage.
