The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking a skilled Facility Energy Technician 4 to help manage and optimize building energy systems across state-owned facilities. The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) supports Oregon's state government by managing resources like finances, technology, and human resources. It provides essential services to help state agencies operate efficiently. The Enterprise Asset Management unit oversees property, fleet, and surplus assets, ensuring effective use and maintenance.
The Facility Energy Technician 4 manages the Energy Management System and HVAC controls in state-owned and leased buildings in Salem, ensuring a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for state employees and the public.

What We Are Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a recognized HVAC/R apprenticeship program or a two-year HVAC/R accredited trade school in heating and air-conditioning or refrigeration AND four years of full-time experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position;
OR
Six years of full-time experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position;
OR
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Desired Attributes:
* Safety Awareness: Demonstrated knowledge and application of safety protocols in confined spaces, adverse weather, and proper lifting techniques.
* Tool Proficiency: Experience with both hand tools and power tools for maintenance, installation, or repair work.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and find solutions for issues encountered in the field, such as equipment malfunctions.
* Construction & HVAC Knowledge: Possesses understanding of HVAC system installation and maintenance, with basic knowledge of construction procedures. Experienced in energy monitoring, DDC system configuration, and maintenance of HVAC components (e.g., dampers, pumps, fans).
* Attention to Detail: Demonstrates precision in measurements and installation procedures to ensure proper system functionality.
* Technical & Computer Skills: Proficient in HVAC systems, basic programming for energy management, and use of CIFMS, or other similar programs, for task management.
* Teamwork & Communication: Able to work effectively in teams or independently, with strong communication skills.
* Certifications: These certifications or licenses are desirable, but not required to have. Please include if you have any of these in your application materials:
* Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME)
* Limited Energy Technician Class A (LEA)
* Class B (LEB) or equivalent
* Boiler-Class 3 Service Mechanic License
* Brazing
* Universal Refrigerant Handling
