SouthCoast Health Is Looking for a Full-time Facility Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance Employee is responsible for ensuring that all facilities within the multisite outpatient medical group are maintained in excellent working order. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, maintaining parking lots, moving office furniture and equipment, delivering, and retrieving items from the warehouse, and conducting repairs to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair tasks.
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards, methods, and materials.
  • Knowledge of safety codes and regulations applicable to healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance:
    • Perform regular inspections of all building systems, including, but not limited to, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems, to ensure they are functioning properly.
    • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as changing filters, replacing light bulbs, and repairing minor leaks.
    • Maintain cleanliness and safety in all common areas, including hallways, restrooms, and lobbies.
  • Repairs:
    • Diagnose and repair minor electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
    • Coordinate with external vendors for more complex repairs when necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to the operations of the medical group.
  • Parking Lot Maintenance:
    • Inspect and maintain parking lots, ensuring they are clean, well-marked, and free of hazards.
    • Perform minor repairs such as patching potholes, clearing debris, and ensuring proper lighting and signage.
  • Furniture and Equipment Moving:
    • Assist in the relocation of office furniture and equipment within the facilities, ensuring safe handling and minimal disruption to operations.
    • Coordinate with staff to assist with the scheduling and execution of moves when needed.
  • Warehouse Deliveries and Retrievals:
    • Deliver and retrieve items from the warehouse as needed, ensuring proper handling and timely delivery.
    • Collaborate with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure items are stored and retrieved accurately and efficiently.

Education/ Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Trade or vocational school education or equivalent work experience. 3 years of building maintenance experience, preferably in health care setting.

Requirement: Valid GA driver's license, Good MVR.
