General Purpose of Job: Building Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of Avflight's Building. Duties:
- Detailed facility cleaning of a commercial building, including mopping, dusting, sweeping
- Cleaning restrooms, break-rooms, dusting and trash removal
- Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, cleaning counters
- Light building maintenance such as touch-up painting, replacing air filters, changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles or other light maintenance required
- Exterior grounds keeping
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
- Maintain stock levels and parts within budget
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions
- Collaborating with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older
- Mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
- Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members
- Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities
- Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations
- Must be a well-organized, detail and customer (internal and external) oriented self-starter
- Must have valid Driver's license with a good driving record within company standards
- Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
Physical Demands: Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75-80 lbs.). Climbing and standing on stepladders while connecting fueling hoses overhead. Bending and stooping to manipulate hoses and connect aircraft tow bars. Must be able to carry 70 pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70 pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Work Environment: Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors.
