Job DescriptionJOB CATEGORY: MAINTENANCE / CUSTODIAL POSITION SUMMARY: The Facility and Maintenance Technician directs or assists with the maintenance and custodial program in order to maintain all facilities, grounds and equipment in a sanitary, functional, attractive and orderly condition. LIMITATIONS OF AUTHORITY: The Facility and Maintenance Technician confers with the Administrator, Region Director or General Services Director before initiating expenditures of more than $500.00 cost. In their absence, the Facility and Maintenance Technician may initiate emergency repairs not to exceed $1,000. QualificationsREQUIREMENTSEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus four years' experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and/or painting; OR eight years ' experience in general maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and/or painting.
- Broad knowledge of construction, repair, maintenance and service procedures, practices, problems and compliance, including procurement, cost-benefit analysis and cost control, also landscaping and mechanical systems preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- The following licenses/certifications are preferred: mechanical (HVAC), plumbing, or electrical.

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:
- May be required to use personal transportation to carry out job duties.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
- Must provide a current motor vehicle record.
- Must provide current personal owner liability automobile insurance and must maintain the insurance coverage throughout the course of employment in this position.
- Must submit to a motor vehicle record check on an as needed basis and maintain a satisfactory driving record that is within the limitations of PMS Human Resources Policy II.D.3, Automobile Usage, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Must comply with PMS Policies on Automobile Usage, II.D.3, Drug Free Workplace, III.H and applicable state and federal laws.
- May be required to complete transportation related trainings.
