Job Description:

Job Responsibilities

* Ensure facility and work environment is operated safely to minimize risk of accidents and injuries

* Oversee all environmental reporting and testing activities

* Ensure environmental programs are properly implemented

* Lead efforts to ensure facility maintains full compliance with all permits

* Oversee all NERC and Regulatory reporting requirements

* Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and commercial commitments

* Uphold a safe work environment, and implement programs/activities that promote goal accomplishment, productivity and morale building

* Optimize plant performance through appropriate utilization of manpower, equipment, supplies and external support

* Recruit, supervise and manage the facility staff to meet the goals and objectives of the facility and company

* Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities for the team to ensure appropriate skill sets are maintained

* Implement and schedule training programs that cover operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory areas

* Prepare and oversee the annual budget and facility operating plan

* Held accountable for purchasing, inventory, cost control and cost management efforts

* Prepare reports detailing significant plant activities and updates on the facility operating plan including budget variance reports

* Communicate effectively with site staff, management, facility owner, Union representatives, vendors, and outside agencies

* Provide periodic updates to EthosEnergy covering significant issues and events at the project

* Actively engage the Owner in understanding needs and expectations

* Demonstrate effective management skills at meeting or exceeding Owner needs and expectations

* Responsible for the enforcement and compliance with O&M agreement and IBEW Local 777 Collective Bargaining Agreement

* Prepare and submit timely reports and responses for information requests to facility owner as stated within O&M CBA

* Provide Owner with timely recommendations to increase plant reliability, performance, safety, or environmental readiness (w/ cost / benefit analysis)

* Oversee planning and implementation of maintenance and outage activities

* Provide outage reports to the owner summarizing significant events of the outage

* Drive a risk-based O&M approach at the facility, optimizing preventative maintenance verses corrective maintenance ratio to maximize owner profitability

* Other duties as assigned

Required Skills / Knowledge

* Understand budgets, bid proposals, contracts and LTSA, basic accounting principles, plant economics and power pool operations

* Knowledge of ISO markets, PJM a plus

* Demonstrated Safety, Health and Environmental leadership and performance

* Illustrated track record of successful goal achievement

* Thorough understanding of power plant operations, including in depth knowledge of the operations & maintenance functions

* Working knowledge of chemistry as related to plant operations as well as environmental and water treatment programs and statutory regulations

* Demonstrated ability to make competent decisions in emergency situations

* Knowledge and experience with Quality systems, auditing, incident investigation and root cause analysis

* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-lines, logic drawings, schematics and technical manuals

* Ability to solve practical problems, clearly communicate tasks and needs, coaching, training and mentorship of personnel

* Ability to analyze and interpret data to make sound judgments and recommendations

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Good computer skills with experience in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Experience

* Experience in startup and operations of both large thermal steam generation and combined cycle power generation preferred

* A minimum of 10 years relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a management position

* Prior Union Labor and CBA experience a strong plus

Education Requirements

* A four-year degree or commensurate experience is required, MBA a plus.

Physical Requirements

* Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting (up to 50 pounds)

* Ability to work at heights and enter confined spaces

* The position requires occasional travel #LI-HB1
