This position will report to the Fiscal Director. This is a full-time position with benefits.Normal work schedule is 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (as assigned and flexible as needed). Salary starts at $39,300; however, is negotiable commensurate with experience. Essential Functions Summary of Position: Manages the Facility, including the direct supervision of staff assigned to each area, monitoring the training and other requirement of staff, assuring the health, safety, and welfare of consumers, making recommendations for related policies and procedures, equipment and emergency closures, representing the Board on matters related to Maintenance or Safety, overseeing maintenance of the Board's buildings, and ensuring that the Facility department operate within the guidelines as established by statutes, rules, regulations, and Board policies and procedures. JOB DUTIES:
  • Supervises employees within the Facility Department; schedules, assigns, and reviews work; evaluates performance; provides guidance and direction; authorizes leaves; responds to concerns/grievances; administers oral and written discipline; recommends suspensions and terminations; recommends new hires to the Superintendent.
  • Provides leadership to Facility Departments; provides input and recommendations to the Fiscal Director in regard to policies and procedures; demonstrates the ability to function effectively as a member of a team of co-workers at the worksite and other settings.
  • Assures that the records for the Facility Departments are developed and maintained in compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and policies with regard to content, review, and confidentiality; assures the confidentiality of consumer and all other information received.
  • Assists in the planning and development of the board's programs; participates in the board's strategic planning and implementation processes; collaborates with the Fiscal Director in the development and management of the board's annual budget as it relates to Maintenance.
  • Provides input to labor negotiations as a representative of the Board; demonstrates effective implementation of collective bargaining agreements affecting the Facility Departments
  • Oversees, coordinates, and makes recommendations for the maintenance of the grounds and facilities of the Board and for the purchasing and maintenance of equipment such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Assures compliance with all EPA rules and regulations, serves as Asbestos Coordinator and Safety Officer for the Board, assures compliance with OSHA, CARF and related safety standards.
  • Prepares or ensures preparation of required reports and documents; gathers and compiles information; review information for accuracy and completeness; submits reports and documents to appropriate authority.
  • Represents the Board on Facility matters as authorized by the supervisor; establishes working professional rapport with contractors, vendors, administrative officials, public officials, the general public, related agencies, etc.
  • Works in collaboration with the Management Team for quality assurance, accreditation and best practices purposes.
  • Develops and demonstrates knowledge of current developments the facility to ensure the provision of progressive, cost effective and efficient services.
  • Participates in meetings, assigned committees, inservices, and special projects, events, grants, and initiatives as requested.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
  • Follows applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, and Board policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality.
  • Performs related duties as requested.
Job Standards Required Qualifications:
  • Must have experience in maintenance
  • Must have supervisory experience
  • Must hold and maintain a current, valid driver's license
  • Must maintain insurability with automobile insurance carriers
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
