The Warehouse oversees the ordering, receipt, control, and delivery of a variety of goods or mail; the pickup, processing, and disposition of outgoing mail or goods; the receipt, storage, retrieval, and delivery of supplies or goods from vendors; the maintenance of inventory records; and courier services as necessary. We work with the mail center to ensure departmental mail is picked up and/or delivered once or twice per day, depending on scheduling, to keep campus operations running smoothly and efficiently. We are part of the Administration & Finance division which provides essential services to our campus, local, state, federal and international customers. We are responsible for human, physical, financial and technical resources. As professionals, we navigate systems in a collaborative and sensitive way to assist the University in achieving its educational mission. The shift for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for assisting the warehouse and mail center with daily operations as directed by the Stores and Mails Operations Supervisor. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, picking up requisition orders from local vendors and ensuring the correct item and quantities are received, and that all documentation is filed for proper billing. Delivery of all campus packages, bulk mail for Admissions mail center, custodial supply orders, and larger items such as office furniture and copy paper, using a state operated vehicles. Box and label custodial orders prior to deliver. Use Smart Track receiving system when making deliveries. Help in the offloading and loading of trucks when necessary, using the forklift truck or pallet jack. May also perform office-related activities such as filing, alphabetizing, photocopying, sorting and delivering mail, inventorying and storing records or supplies on shelves, bins and/or on the floor; documents work performed and labor and materials used. Perform proper warehouse practices to safeguard the serviceability of the property, promote safety, and accurate inventory information. Required Qualifications:
* Must be eligible for permanent appointment to this title pursuant to civil service law.
* Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions
* Physically able to perform the tasks of the position including, but not limited to, those in the Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
* Valid NYS driver's license and the ability to drive state vehicles with proper authorization.
* A demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with a variety of individuals

Salary (Applicant View)
$35,177 - $43,521, in accordance with Civil Service Salary Schedule, plus excellent benefits.
