Viasat is seeking a passionate and innovative professional to join our team as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) and COMSEC Manager of the Linthicum Heights, MD location. The day-to-day The FSO is responsible for maintaining strict compliance with government, customer and company security policies, 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), NSA CSS 3/16, contractually imposed Program Security Directives/Guides, and Viasat Standard Practices and Procedures (SPP). The essential functions of the FSO and COMSEC Manager include: FSO supports all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) protecting people, information and company assets. COMSEC Manager maintains a compliant DIAS COMSEC Account database and orders, receives, dispatches and stores COMSEC equipment and keying material. Work independently as well as with a team of Industrial Security Professionals. Interface with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), NSA, government customers and contractor personnel in a professional manner. Liaison with local and federal law enforcement, federal investigators, and emergency response personnel. Provide accredited Information Systems support for local environments in coordination with the ISSM and COMPUSEC team. Effectively apply compliant physical and procedural local security measures with minimal negative impacts to business operations. Objectively and professionally conduct investigations regarding sensitive issues and violations of compliance requirements and written policies. Responsible for shipping and receiving of sensitive packages, destruction, and inventory management through Security Information Management System (SIMS). Provide security briefings, debriefings, and awareness training for site personnel. Processing outgoing and incoming visit requests through DISS. Execute SEAD 3 Foreign Travel processing and reporting for eligible personnel. Responsible for visitor control administration and coordination of onsite or offsite meetings and product demos. Maintain, audit, and evaluate industrial security practices. Participate in periodic self-inspections and government assessments as required by DCSA, NSA and other reviews. Execute safety related duties with oversight and direction from Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety staff. What you'll need 3+ years' experience supporting the DoD or cleared defense industry executing the NISP. Prior experience as a COMSEC Manager or Custodian. US Citizenship with the ability to possess and maintain Top Secret level clearance. Knowledgeable of the requirements and implementation of the NISPOM. Familiarity with security applications (e.g., DISS, NISS, SIMS, DIAS). Excellent written communication, time management, and organizational skills. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well individually and as part of a team. Ability to enable the business as a customer service provider through timely assistance and direction supporting program execution and customer satisfaction. Possess the interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to work well under pressure, possess good problem-solving skills and able to enforce policies in a professional and personable manner. Availability to respond to after-hours alarms and emergency conditions. Strong administration skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Technical capability to assist the Computer Security team with occasional low level support (i.e. installing and removing systems, performing reboots, resetting COMSEC equipment, accessing BIOS, maintaining Baselines, etc.). What will help you on the job Active Top Secret Clearance preferred. Completion of the DCSA National Security Learning Center FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum. NSA COR COMSEC Account Manager Training Course. Experience and certification with Key Management Infrastructure (KMI). Professional certifications (e.g. ISP, Security+, etc.) preferred. Expertise of the NISPOM and other Government directives/policies with proven, sustain history of an effective security program. Familiarity with controls related to RMF, DAAPM, CUI, FOUO, and CMMC. Salary range $81,000.00 - $115,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $98,000.00- $132,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
