PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Facility Security Officer (FSO) on a Direct Hire basis. This position is located in Germantown, MD.
Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled FSO to oversee and manage security policies, procedures, and compliance related to classified projects for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Special Access Programs (SAP). This role will serve as the primary technical expert on government clearances and classified information handling within the organization, ensuring alignment with applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee security policies, procedures, and functions to ensure compliance with government regulations and company standards.
- Manage processes related to personnel security clearances, facility requirements, and liaison activities with the DoD.
- Develop and maintain security plans and procedures compliant with NISPOM and related policies.
- Maintain and oversee company CAGE code(s).
- Investigate and report security incidents and violations, collaborating with the Cognizant Security Authority.
- Conduct security program reviews, including formal inspections and audits.
- Design and deliver ongoing training programs for all cleared personnel.
- Utilize and maintain systems such as DISS, e-QIP, NISS, and ServiceNow (NBIS).
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience managing SAP and DoD security requirements.
- 5+ years in a Facility Security Officer (FSO) role.
- Current Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- In-depth knowledge of 32 CFR 117, NISPOM, and ICD 705 standards.
- Proficiency with secure communication systems, such as COMSEC or Alt COMSEC custodian equipment.
- Familiarity with U.S. government security regulations related to classified information.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, oral presentation, and writing skills.
