Facility Systems SpecialistLocation City of ArlingtonWork Status Full TimeTHIS POSITION WILL BE OPEN UNTIL FILLED. SALARY: 19.90 - 24.88 Hourly USDJOB SUMMARY:Under general supervision,installs, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance of HVAC, electricaland plumbing equipment using approved methods.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Incumbent is subject to fume/odor, dust/mites, chemical, mechanical, electrical, explosives, radiation, and toxic waste hazards.Ability to perform preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment.Ability to install HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment utilizing approved methods.Ability to perform necessary repairs of HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment to ensure minimum down-time.Ability to perform minor repair and maintenance duties such as painting, plumbing, etc. as needed or required.MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesRequired:Knowledge of the theory and safe practices of electricity.Knowledge of the theory and safe practices of electricity.Knowledge of uniform mechanical codes.Knowledge of telephone wiring systems.Knowledge of wireless internet, electronic messaging, and networking systems technology.Skill in the installation, operation and maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment.Knowledge of the principles of refrigeration, chill and heating water systems, boilers and their operations, ventilation and air handling, general air flow, and basic electricity.Knowledge of HVAC control systems.Ability to troubleshoot HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems and equipment.Skill in communicating with other city employees and the public by oral and written means.Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints and electrical circuits. Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound. Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including, but not limited to seeing, pushing, stooping, climbing to and from extreme heights.Ability to operate motorized vehicle.Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent to lifting up to 100 pounds.Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to lifts (eg. Forklift, man lifts, etc.) all types), telephone, hand radio, and personal computer.Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.Qualifying Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent Three years' experience in the maintenance and repair of HVAC,electrical & plumbing equipment and systems Possession of a valid Texas Operator's License, Class C.Background Requirements:Motor Vehicle Record, Criminal Background check and Drugscreen.
