POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Director or his designee, the Facility Technician I is shall perform basic and minor maintenance such as painting, floor repair, changing light bulbs, and other preventative maintenance of the facilities and equipment.

* Maintain and make repairs or minor alterations as need to furniture, cabinets, and other equipment
* Scrape, sand and prepare surfaces for painting or repairing
* Apply finishing to various surfaces such as wood, glass, plaster, stucco, wall boards, brick and cements
* Clean and maintain equipment and supplies
* Make minor lock repairs
* Make minor repairs and adjustment to plumbing equipment and apparatus (e.g., leak repairs, clean plugged drains, flush sewer lines)
* Remove and replace fixatures, socket drop cords, switches, exposed wiring
* Assist with maintenance repair, installation and alteration
* Adjust and maintain switches, electric motors, fans, heaters, light bulbs
* Clean and maintain maintenance supplies and tools
* Install ceiling and floor coverings, chair rails and baseboards
* Construct office furniture such as desks, chairs, and cabinets
* Drive to various locations to perform assigned work
* Attend meetings and trainings as assigned
* Report any maintenance or facility issues to supervisor
Perform preventative maintenance as assigned
Qualifications

* EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma or equivalent is often required.
* Vocational training or certification or prior of experience in facilities management, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, or a related field
* Class C Driver's License with Clean Record
* SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
* Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on building systems and equipment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
* Ability to pay close attention to details while performing maintenance tasks and inspections.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and report maintenance issues.
* Ability to work well independently and as part of a team to accomplish maintenance and repair tasks efficiently.
* Understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, chillers, and pumps.
* Knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components, including basic troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with plumbing systems, fixtures, and repairs.
* Awareness of local building codes and regulations related to facilities management and maintenance.
* Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment used in facilities maintenance.
* Basic proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or similar software for work order management and tracking.
