Job DetailsJob Location 17th Street - New York, NY Salary Range $201,000.00 - $220,000.00 Salary/year DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE Core Faculty DEPARTMENT Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Program (Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine) SUPERVISOR'S TITLE Program Director HR USE ONLY FLSA STATUS UNION STATUS ACCRUAL PROFILE CREDENTIALING LEVEL LIP (Licensed Independent Practitioner Level I ) OLCP (Other Licensed Certified Practitioner Level II ) DPC (Direct Patient Contact- license/certificate not required Level III ) OSS (Operations/Support Staff Level IV ) POSITION SUMMARY The Core Faculty for the Downtown Residency in Urban Family Medicine serves as a core faculty member for residency activities at the Institute for Family Health 17th St clinic, assisting the Program Director and Associate Program Director with various aspects of the administration of the residency, and ensuring a rich learning environment and curriculum that meet ACGME requirements. The Core Faculty will also carry out key faculty responsibilities involved in program wide and practice wide activities, as specified below. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Assists Program Leadership with activities as assigned
  • Ensures appropriate education and supervision of physicians, residents and other providers at the Institute for Family Health 17th St Family Medicine center, including supervising residents during two precepting sessions per week
  • Represents the program at national conferences
  • Attends professional development conferences and activities with the support of program leadership, including but not limited to faculty development
  • Assists program leadership in resident recruitment
  • Assists program leadership in resident evaluation and remediation
  • Serves as a resident advisor
  • Serves on assigned residency committees
  • Assists in supervision of resident scholarly and quality improvement activities
  • Provides precepting and evaluation of the performance of residents and assigned students
  • Attends and engages in teaching conferences, including delivering 2-3 teaching seminars annually
  • Participates in scholarly work, yearly, as required by the ACGME
  • Maintains four primary care primary care practice session at the teaching site, including relevant responsibilities that encompass primary care including quality metrics and improvement goals, professionalism and team work.
  • As applicable, regularly rounds as the attending physician on the inpatient Family Medicine service at The Mount Sinai Hospital, including maintaining professionalism and responsibilities of inpatient faculty as determined by the Family Medicine Inpatient Director
  • As applicable, regularly works on labor and delivery at Mount Sinai Hospital, including maintaining professionalism and responsibilities of FMOB faculty as determined by the Family Medicine Director of Obstetrics
  • Maintains board certification through regular CME activities and board exams
  • Engages in and assists resident and faculty wellness activities
  • Collaborates actively with psychosocial and pharmacy faculty, nursing and interdisciplinary team staff
  • Complete resident evaluations in a timely manner for inpatient, outpatient, advising, and rotation supervision.
  • Maintain professionalism with teaching, patient care, and supervisory work

EDUCATION RequiredPreferred
  • Graduation from an LCME or USMLE accredited medical school

  • Graduation from an ACGME accredited family medicine residency program

  • 1 year of residency faculty experience

  • 3 years of post graduate clinical practice preferably in a community health care setting
