We are looking for someone who resonates deeply with our mission to equip Christian leaders for missional ministry locally and globally. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and skilled individual with both pastoral and clinical counseling expertise and experience, who is passionate about equipping students for ministry that addresses the spiritual, emotional, and psychological needs of individuals and communities. Please prepare a cover letter, a one-page statement summarizing your philosophy of seminary education within the Wesleyan tradition, and a curriculum vitae (including education; clinical, teaching, ministry, and volunteer experience; scholarship and publications; and references).   • A teaching load of 21 credit hours per 12-month contract period
  • Oversight of Pastoral Care and Counseling courses; development of additional course offerings in Pastoral Care and Counseling, and related subject areas
  • Additional teaching in the areas of Christian ministry and spiritual formation
  • Contribution to program assessment and review processes
  • Relevant institutional committee work and service, and relevant scholarly activity
Note: This position requires relocation to the region and regular presence on IWU's campus in Marion, IndianaQualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.Education
  • PhD (or equivalent) in Pastoral Theology, Practical Theology, Religion and Psychology; or Psychology with a master's degree in a theological discipline (MDiv preferred)
Experience
  • Significant experience in local church ministry
  • A heart for the local church and training pastors and Christian leaders
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively, especially online, at the graduate level, with a student-centered approach
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and students from diverse communities and cultures
  • Enthusiastic embrace of the Wesleyan tradition and ability to function well within a learning community hosted by The Wesleyan Church
  • Adept with educational technologies such as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel), online learning management systems, and other supplemental tools (e.g. audio and/or video recording).
