The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrated evidence ofthe likelihood of transition to independent funding, including a high-quality publication record, track record ofextramural funding, and mentoring experience in a basic science, translational, or clinical science field relevant topediatric nephrology. The successful applicant will have significant protected time to establish their independentresearch program and participate in the clinical, teaching, and service activities in the division. The candidatemust have an MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board-eligible/certified in pediatric nephrology.The Division of Nephrology at the University of Pittsburgh has a long track record of active engagement andmentoring in basic science, clinical and translational research, with three current R01-funded investigators andthree junior physician-scientists. There is a strong history of collaboration with the Adult Renal-ElectrolyteDivision, including an NIDDK NIH-sponsored George M. O'Brien Kidney Research Center, the Pittsburgh Centerfor Kidney Research, as well as opportunities to work with investigators at Carnegie Mellon University.
