Scope of Position:
The Fairport Plant Buyer supports the plant through the timely procurement of quality materials in support of the manufacturing plan. They execute procurement strategies that Assure Supply and Optimize Total Cost of Ownership for the Plant.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree
* Minimum of two years working as a buyer/planner or within a similar role
* Possesses a high-level of initiative and motivation with an ability to work in a matrix environment or within a cross functional team
* Able to be persuasive in negotiations
* Demonstrated decision making, problem-solving skills and strong analytical abilities with attention to detail
Desired Skills:
* Prior work as a buyer/planner within a manufacturing setting
* Education, training, and/or certification (Certified Professional Supply Management, Certified in Planning and Inventory Management, etc.) in a supply chain function
* Knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
* Negotiation, purchasing and/or commodity experience
* Knowledge/familiarity with optical manufacturing fabrication and processes, optical glass specifications of quality and/or basic optical principles in imaging systems
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for tactical and technical procurement execution for assigned material, equipment and services. Duties include communication to supplier, submission of POs, monitoring of deliveries, expediting materials and resolving billing discrepancies as needed
* Works with Operations and the Business Teams to execute the Key Commodity Strategies
* Creates and maintains contractual documents (Supply Agreements, Pricing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Certificates of Insurance, etc.)
* Primary point of contact on supplier relations necessary to supply the plant effectively and efficiently
* Collects, analyzes and summarizes supply management performance metrics against objectives including quality, cost, on-time delivery and lead-time; Communicates results and works with suppliers to drive continuous improvement
* Works with Quality, Warehouse and Product Engineering to ensure proper disposition of rejected materials; Support evaluation and resolution of supplier corrective action

The range for this position is $66,418.00 - $91,325.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
