Position Type: Family Center/Family and Community Engagement Specialist (Family Center)Date Posted: 8/29/2024Location: Family CenterDate Available: ASAPClosing Date: Until FilledThe job of Family and Community Engagement Specialist (Family Center) is done for the purpose/s ofadhering to the Family and Community Engagement Framework and supporting the Early Head Start and Prevention Initiative programs and the Center in adhering to the guidelines and standards set forth by the Illinois State Board of Education/Prevention Initiative program, Early Head Start Standards (ERSEA), and Illinois Early Learning Standards in conjunction with Illinois DCFS Licensing Standards and Illinois Department of Human Services (Childcare Assistance Program). The Family and Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the Center meets Head Start Performance Standards, Prevention Initiative Quality Indicators, DCFS Licensing regulations, IDPH requirements and any federal, state and local laws regarding family and community engagement for children from birth to 5 years of age and their families. The position of Family and Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing all family and community engagement initiatives. The position is designed improve communication between the school and the students' families; promote parent engagement in their children's education; and to encourage greater community involvement in the Center. Experience:
  • Two to three years of teaching, education, community organizing, and/or social service experience.
  • Five years experience working in a birth to five environment is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
  • Background working with or knowledge of networks of agencies and organizations that address students' and families' social-emotional, economic, and health needs is preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelors degree in job-related area.
Salary Range $40,000-47,000 Benefits include:
