The Family Consultant's purpose is to identify the medical, social, educational and other needs of the eligible foster care family, identify the services necessary to meet those needs, and facilitate access to those services. The Family Consultant acts as a team leader in foster care and is responsible for the planning and implementation of the direct treatment and overall management of assigned caseloads of children/families served by KidsPeace New England.
Qualifications:- All KPNE Family Consultants are required to satisfactorily complete the KidsPeace Case Management training curriculum as well as state mandated training for Case Managers within timeframes specified by KP Policy and/or state regulation.
- A Master's degree in a human service field, OR;
- A Bachelor's degree in a human service field with two (2) years' experience working with children and families, OR
- A Bachelor's degree in a non-human service field and three (3) years' experience working with children and families.
Job Duties:
- To act as a team leader providing guidance to the foster parent(s) and the family support worker(s) assigned to the caseload(s), leading the team meeting and 90 day reviews, writing treatment plans, and overseeing the overall treatment of the foster child.
- To provide supervision to Family Support Workers/BHP's as assigned.
- To provide intake, assessment, plan of care development, coordination and advocacy, monitoring, and evaluation services.
- Regularly schedule meetings with assigned child and family on caseload to counsel, support and monitor treatment progress, safety, and overall well-being in the home and in the community.
- Coordinate, monitor, and act as liaison between necessary clinical, educational, behavioral, and all healthcare services with KidsPeace professionals or community-based providers in accordance with KidsPeace policy as well as external licensing and regulatory bodies.
- Attend and testify at court reviews and judicial proceedings as required by state mandated regulations.
- Maintain documentation for each client file in compliance with KidsPeace Quality Assurance standards as well as external licensing and regulatory bodies.
