- The Family Medicine Physician conducts thorough medical assessments, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering and interpreting appropriate laboratory and radiological studies.
- Formulate diagnoses and develop patient care plans, and clearly communicate with patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options.
- Support patients and their families during illness, providing compassionate care and guidance.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive patient records that meet regulatory standards, detailing each patient's care and treatment activities.
- Identify cases that require specialized care and facilitate referrals or coordinate hospital admissions as necessary.
- The Family Medicine Physician provides inpatient rounds and develops care plans for hospitalized patients as needed; participate in on-call duties as required.
- Perform comprehensive health examinations, diagnose medical conditions, and prescribe or implement necessary treatments.
- Collaborate with the business office and credentialing staff to maintain current Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and other professional registrations.
- Work with clinical staff on scheduling to ensure adequate provider coverage.
- Adhere to the assigned scope of duties and follow work assignments from the Clinical Director.
- The Family Medicine Physician documents patient care and findings in accordance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations.
Family Medicine Physician - REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Current, active, and unrestricted Physician license in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia.
- Current DEA license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of documented clinical experience in a Family Practice or Primary Care setting.
