Job Description:
The Resource Recovery Center of Orange County is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to those suffering from Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders. Substance Use Disorders are chronic illnesses, and treatment provided is based upon the presenting needs of the individual. Our goal is to help individuals and families begin the physical, emotional and spiritual healing process by utilizing compassionate, encouraging and evidence-based practices. We ultimately strive to guide individuals, and their families, towards a goal of living life to its full potential-free from addiction. We are currently seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in NY State with a current Buprenorphine waiver. The Family Nurse Practitioner will conduct physical assessments, diagnosis and treat conditions, prescribe medications for adults being treated for substance use disorder. The FNP will assess prospective patients for admission to detox and initiate the detox protocols while maintaining medical documentation consistent with agency, state and federal requirements within our electronic medical record. The Family Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the Medical Director. This is a PT position with flexible hours. Responsibilities: Conduct intake evaluation with relevant history, health assessment based on the patient s signs & symptoms. On an ongoing basis, identify patient needs and make a differential diagnosis based on the clinical presentation, history and clinical findings. Develop prioritized, mutually acceptable plans of care according to existing protocols in collaboration with the staff physician. Ongoing collaboration to implement a prioritized treatment plan with appropriate diagnostic tests, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, patient education, and appropriate referrals as needed. Provide systematic follow-up of patient progress and presentation, effectiveness of treatment provided, therapeutic processes used by evaluating outcomes and modifying treatments & management plans as necessary to achieve medical, substance use and mental health goals. Provide education & information and review risks benefits and alternatives to inform proper consent and as needed to make informed choices and support patient centered care, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention and treatment. Participate with other professional colleagues to provide comprehensive physical and mental health care. Collaborate with treatment and discharge team to ensure appropriate re-entry into outpatient substance use, mental health, and medical treatment. Support the provision of a safe environment for patients, and promote patient advocacy at the individual and community levels. In conjunction with interdisciplinary team conduct waived testing for urine, blood work and glucose monitoring. Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records utilizing evidence-based documentation. SKILLS: Strong written and interpersonal communications skills Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology Attention to detail Decision-making and problem-solving skills Requirements: Master's or doctoral degree Current/valid New York State Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license Currently registered as a registered professional nurse and FNP certification in good standing Certified as a family nurse practitioner pursuant to 6910, with prescription writing privileges pursuant to 6902.3b of the Education Law DEA license Hold all requirements indicated by the NY Department of Education and NYS OASAS to perform history and physicals and prescribe medications. OPRA certification Current basic life support for health providers (BLS) 3 years of related work experience ANCC/ ARC-PA credentialing and certification Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 3 - 5 years Salary: $80 - $100 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
