Who We Serve:Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional age youth, families, adults, and older adults. We offer a full range of mental and behavioral health services, foster care and social services, housing, continuing adult education, and early childhood education programs to Medi-Cal eligible individuals and families throughout various counties.

Job Summary:Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency to provide support and coaching on specific skill sets for caregivers as well as to provide a parent perspective in various settings. Supports the development of a shared understanding based on the twelve principles of the agency service philosophy. Uses personal and professional life experiences to establish credibility and infuse hope for a better future, demonstrate unconditional acceptance, and assist with problem solving. Supports the implementation of family-friendly practices by providing a parent's perspective to routine operations and development of programs. Provides consultation and training for staff to increase awareness and improve the effectiveness of parent-professional partnerships. Participates in community meetings to maximize parent voice, choice, access, and involvement throughout the service delivery process.

  • Utilizes personal and professional life experience to provide peer support to parents and caregivers.
  • Provides information about the agency and the process and procedures, including the Family Partner I role.
  • Participates in providing support services for parents/caregivers (e.g., family events, recognition events).
  • Coaches families to make decisions and develop plans based on their needs.
  • Collaborates in Child and Family team (CFT) meetings to ensure access, voice, and choice.
  • Identifies community connections for internal teams.
  • Serves as consultant and supports shared understanding between families and providers.
  • Provides non-judgmental, culturally informed support.
  • Explores and works to (re)establish natural support systems as needed.
  • Models and coaches effective coping techniques.
  • Provides a caregiver's perspective in agency support structures.
  • Assists with the design and implementation of trainings about the parent perspective.
  • Utilizes conflict resolution skills.
  • Participates in continuous learning related to engaging youth and families.
  • Maintains and manages schedule effectively.
  • Produces and maintains accurate documentation.

Other Duties:

  • Driving to appointments with clients and their families.
  • Physical interactions with children of variable ages.

Education Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Education:Some college education.

Experience Requirements:Three (3) years of experience as a parent or caregiver of a child with special needs. Ability to articulate the experience and perspective of a parent/caregiver of a child with complex needs.

Highly Desirable Qualifications:Speak, read, and/or write another language preferred.

Other Specific Requirements:Must pass DOJ, FBI, and CAIC background checks. Valid California Driver's license with two years' experience and a clean driving record required.
