Family PeerJob DetailsJob LocationAlbany-Academy RTF/NorthStar - Albany, NYSalary Range$19.00 - $21.00 HourlyDescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for providing short term, intensive help to parents/caregivers of Schenectady City School District students to address salient issues relating to social predictors of health, including: housing, food supply, financial insecurities, transportation, and accessing public assistance such as Medicaid.Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.Engagement with parents/caregivers identified by Schenectady School District as needing additional community support.Provide families with information pertaining to resources in the community for services, ongoing support and linkages.Assist parents/caregivers in identifying any barriers to accessing community resources.Assist parents/caregivers with documentation and other steps needed to access resources and support from either public or private entities.Provide strategies and intervention suggestions to parents/caregivers whose challenges create safety concerns for their children.Coordinate and collaborate with school personnel so that efforts to support the parent/caregiver are not duplicated.Participate in regular team meetings.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
