About the JobWaypoint has an amazing opportunity for a new team member in our Healthy Families of America Program. Are you interested in using your skills to become a Family Support Specialist in our Healthy Families America home visiting program? Healthy Families America (HFA) is a home visiting program model designed to work with families who may have histories of trauma, intimate partner violence, mental health issues, and/or substance abuse issues. HFA services are offered voluntarily, intensively, and over the long term. Ideally services begin during pregnancy and continue for three years after birth of the target child.As such, home visitor work with the whole family to provide education about parenting, child development, communication, stress management, organization, and budgeting. Home visitor also help families access resources in the community that will benefit their families. Healthy Family America works with families who experience children or parents with learning or other disabilities, health diagnoses, mental health diagnoses, domestic violence, and substance abuse issues. Home Visitors will be responsible for their caseload, paperwork, and documentation, attending community meetings and training and staff meetings. Home Visitors may also participate in the Family Resource Center and help teach classes, run groups, or manage the drop-in center. Minimum Requirements:
- BS or BA degree with 1 to 2 years of home visiting, infant/toddler development, and/or parenting education experience preferred.
- Equivalent experience and/or new grads will be considered with the right candidate.
- High Level of Organizational skills
- Self motivated, Passionate, bold and courageous
- Computer Skills and Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel is required. Previous experience with Office 365 and SharePoint desired.
- Following confidentiality policies regarding client sensitive information, Waypoint Technology Policies and adhering to Waypoint's Hybrid Model
- Excellent verbal, written and face-to-face communication skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic to vulnerable families and individuals
- Passionate to coach, help, mentor and support struggling new families
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check with no history of abuse, neglect or exploitation
- Valid Driver's License with Auto Insurance that meets the requited liability minimum coverage of $50,000/$100,000
