Job Description:
Cunningham Children's Home, an agency committed to providing a safe place for young people to learn, heal and grow, is adding a new program to help youth in foster care experience stability in their homes. We are seeking new staff to work as a team in providing therapeutic services to seriously emotionally and behaviorally challenged youth and their families.TheFamily Support Specialist,in conjunction with the Family Therapist, provides intensive therapeutic services to promote placement stability for youth at risk of placement disruption. The Family Support Specialist serves as the link between the agency, referring agencies, the family, and any other interested stakeholders in the client's welfare. This position is responsible for extensive coordination. Successful candidates will have a bachelor's degree in human services, preferably social work, or clinical or counseling psychology. Two years of previous experience in child welfare, children's mental health, and families is required. Self discipline, highly developed understanding of confidentiality, desire, and ability to work cooperatively with a treatment team is required.Must have use of a motor vehicle capable of being used on the job and be willing to provide services throughout Champaign, Ford, Iroquois, and Vermilion Counties. The majority of services will be provided in the families' homes and community.This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling required. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends to meet the scheduling needs of the families that we work with.Relocation assistance available.
