Job DescriptionProvides direct in-home services including, but not limited to, parenting skills, life skills, child development and behavior managementSupport case plan goals through teaching, role modeling, and demonstrationParticipates in case conferences, family meetings, client assessments, and in the team decision making processAssists families to establish a support network with family, kinship and communityRefers clients to community services and assists in arranging appointments as neededAssists in gathering information for initial and on-going assessmentsProvides intervention for children and families in crisis situationsAbility to work with the court system and follow court protocols including appropriate business attireParticipates in court proceedings, including testifying, and makes sure court orders are followedCompletes and maintains written documentation in child/family's case record accurately and within established timeframesSupports kinship and foster families to maintain placements and help children work toward permanencyParticipates in team meetings, sharing pertinent information about children/families progress; critical trends, barriers and solutions to achiving outcomes, and relationships wtih other agencies/communitiesWorks collaboratively with Permanency Specialist assignedSupervises and transports children and families as neededRequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust be at least 21 years of ageMust pass a drug screen, MVR, KBI, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check and an Adult Registry CheckFBI Fingerprint checkLifting Requirement of 50 lbsMust have a valid drivers license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportationMandated ReporterReceives training in trauma informed practice and incorporates knowledge in day-to-day practiceAbility to work flexible schedule including on-callUnderstanding of family centered practiceUndersanding of the child welfare and state systemAbility to engage families in working relationshipsUnderstanding of child and adolescent developmentDemonstrates effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to travel throughout the StateConsistently exercises discretion and independent judgment in performance of duties in conformance with applicable policies, procedures, statutes, rules and regulationsAiblity to work with minimal superivisionHandle multiple prioritiesIndependent discretion/decision making within the scope and responsibility of the positionManages emotions and can make decision under pressureManages stress appropriatelyWorks alone effectivelyWorks in close proximity to others and/or in a distracting environmentWorks with others effectively/teamworkAbility to work with diverse populationsUnderstands and practices Universal Precautions
