DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Adhere to the policies and procedures of Eagle Village Residential Services and the State of Michigan. Support Eagle Village polices, procedure and initiatives with the treatment team by being a bridge between Eagle Village administration and program staff, through awareness and communication of agency planning, policies, and procedures.Adhere to and promote the agency's mission and values in the execution of duties while recognizing and appropriately responding to the cultural differences among those served, as well as fellow staff members.Participate in Academies, All Staff, and other required continuing education training. Complete trainings in a timely manner.Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for youth in care.Complete all required paperwork from intake to discharge within established time requirements, including the preparation and submission of Preliminary Service Plans, Initial Service Plans, Updated Services Plans, Court Reports, and Action Summaries. Develop Individual Program Modification plans as client's needs demand.Develop treatment objectives and a quarterly case plan collaboratively with the client, their parents, and referring worker. In addition, facilitate quarterly Case Review Meetings, with all parties in attendance, to discuss the client's treatment objectives and plan for the next quarter.Promote a holistic therapeutic approach, with specific attention and support to include family in programming, engaging family in treatment, and empowering families to determine direction for their child and themselves. When no traditional family is available as a resource, the Family Therapist will work with the child's treatment team to develop alternative support systems for the client.Planned therapeutic contact with each youth and their family in the regimen of weekly individual counseling, weekly group counseling, weekly group building, family counseling, and Family Legacy in accordance with the State of Michigan guidelines.Provide emotional support/therapy and crisis intervention for residents who have experienced sexual abuse, sexual harassment, physical abuse, mental abuse, and neglect.Provide support, encouragement, and role-modeling for the youth under your care, build meaningful and supportive relationships. Be able to assume an authoritative role while maintaining a primary helping relationship.Assist treatment team members with tasks as necessary and assigned, to provide for the proper functioning of your assigned unit.Assist Residential Case manager in planning client's visits away from the residential unit, including with whom, when, transportation arrangements and length of visit.Assist Residential Case Manager in coordinating/overseeing client phone calls, clothing orders, mail received and other areas related to the personal needs of clients.At client discharge, coordinate aftercare plans to ensure treatment continuity for the client's psychiatric and therapeutic care. This is included partnering with Eagle Village's aftercare team.Stay current and proficient in evidenced based therapy models.Maintain on-going relationships through weekly contact with DHHS workers, Probation Officers, Attorneys, and parents/guardians by phone, email, and/or face to face in promoting smooth transition of youth into the community and various Eagle Village programs. Residential Case Managers typically email the weekly updates.Collaborate with the Experiential Specialist to enhance treatment plan implementation and provide experiential interventions.Required to physically participate in the wilderness experiential components.Be knowledgeable in and ensure that all necessary assessments are completed including recommendations for psychological, psychiatric, and/or trauma assessments.Represent Eagle Village professionally at court hearings by providing expert testimony regarding treatment progress, youth/family strengths and needs, and recommendations. This may be in the form of in-person appearance, video conferencing, or phone.Duties commonly required providing service during some evenings and weekends; crisis intervention or short-notice response may be necessary.Required to sign up and be available for on-call clinical duties on a rotating schedule throughout the year, including holidays.May be required to provide trainings to Community Agencies, Conferences, and/or Academies.Participate in research and evaluation projects as assigned; prepare presentations for colleagues and team members on selected relevant treatment topics.Maintain attendance at Clinical meetings, Residential Admin meetings, Leadership meetings, and Treatment Team meetings.Facilitate medication reviews for your clients and complete medication review notes/case notes.Utilize educational opportunities and resources offered by the agency and through the profession for continued development of skills, clinical expertise and leadership skills (conferences, academies, therapist meetings, etc.).Participate in school meetings; behavioral meetings, IEP meetings, school conferences, etc.Obtain and maintain in good standing, the highest professional license available for educational level and professional organization.Maintain good moral character.Perform any other reasonably related duties assigned by Eagle Village administration.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position could be responsible for supervising Interns.RequirementsQualifications:Licensed Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Professional Counseling from an accredited college or university is required. Have knowledge, experience, and skills in working with children and families who have experienced trauma. One year related experience preferred. Minimum of a Limited License (must work on and demonstrate progress in obtaining full license, if not already obtained) as a Social Worker, Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Professional Counselor. Be of Good moral character. Must be able to type fluently with knowledge of general Microsoft programs.Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Reasoning Ability:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limits standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:Full State of Michigan licensure for education and profession or a minimum of a limited license and would be eligible for full licensure within 2 years.Maintain required State of Michigan and Eagle Village certifications and qualifications.Valid Michigan Driver's license and good driving record.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
