ABOUT CHILDREN SERVICES OF ROXBURY: Founded in 1972 Children's Services of Roxbury's (CSR) mission is to provide high quality services to economically disadvantaged children, youth, families, and individuals thereby promoting and strengthening family life and individual growth. CSR serves approximately 6,000 families across Massachusetts, serving families through four key services areas; Early Education and Care, Behavioral Health Services, Youth and Family Services and Housing and Stabilization. There are 22 programs operating under those four services areas. CSR operates across in 4 cities, has a staff of 400 employees, and an operating budget of $28M.OVERVIEW: Children's Services of Roxbury's Family Visitation Program provides a safe and professional location for visits for families in the Greater Boston area. The supervised or un-supervised visits between the children and their primary visiting parent, such as a parent living outside of their home, are conducted based on the parameters designated by the court order or DCF referral. Trained staff supervise each visit and remain neutral while facilitating the visitation.SUMMARY: The Case Aide is responsible for ensuring that scheduled visits between the Child(ren) and the Primary Visiting Party are safe and appropriate. The Case Aide is responsible for ensuring that observation reports are written during the visits and any other necessary documentation is completed for review prior to the shift ending. The incumbent in this position will be a Mandated Reporter. It is imperative that confidentiality is maintained. The Case Aide is responsible for filing, reviewing case files, phone calls, e-mails, and anything else that is program related in the time during the shift. This position is part time, Thursday 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The Family Visitation Program Manager may designate various other activities. Responsibilities
  • Understand and implement the rules, policies, and regulations of the Visitation Program as defined in the service agreement and DPH contract
  • Conduct virtual and/or in person orientations for new participants receiving supervised visitation services
  • Escort Child from the Full-Time Caregiver to the Primary Visiting Party for visits to occur (in person visits), check in with parties prior to virtual visitation session
  • Review assigned cases prior to visit by reading the case file
  • Share safety concerns with the Program Manager, Shift Leader, and Security Guard
  • Observe supervised visits closely and record behaviorally based documentation
  • Intervene appropriately during visits when necessary
  • Check in with Family Visitation Participants at least monthly regarding any extra support and/or resources they may need
  • Provide Family Visitation Participants with resources when needed
  • Maintain professional conduct during shift
  • Keep professional boundaries with the Visitation Program Participants
  • Maintain strict confidentiality for each case
  • Timely submittal of required paperwork
  • Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings
  • Report to the Program Manager or Director immediately and privately to report concerns that may need to be reported to DCF or BPD
  • Keep open communication with Program Manager and Program Director
  • Work as a team player and assist in observing and documenting cases when other staff are absent
  • Return phone calls and e-mails in a timely manner
  • Prepare copies of Observation Reports within the 2-week period for assigned cases (when requested)
  • Collect payment for observation reports
  • Communicate with Program Participants regarding fees owed, general updates, and concerns, in the form of case management
  • Treat all parties with dignity and respect and remain multi-partial

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Expected to work independently, as well as within a team dynamic, with moderate day-to-day supervision. Goal setting, management oversight and performance evaluation will be provided by the Family Visitation Program Manager.   • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Bilingual capacity a plus
  • Experience in Domestic Violence and family work a plus
  • The ability to work in strict confidence is essential
  • Ability to pay precise attention to detail
  • Must be a highly organized professional, capable of handling complex situations
  • Team player with the ability to work alone
