Position Overview: As a Farm Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day farm operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and adherence to best practices. You will be responsible for managing a variety of crops and livestock, while also leading and motivating a team of farm workers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of farming techniques, familiarity with H2A regulations, and proficiency in operating and maintaining agricultural equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all farming activities, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and livestock management.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize crop yield, quality, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with H2A regulations and manage all aspects of the H2A program.
- Maintain and repair agricultural equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards.
- Monitor and manage resources efficiently, including water, fertilizers, and pesticides.
- Implement sustainable farming practices to minimize environmental impact.
- Recruit, train, and supervise farm workers, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor market trends and make informed decisions regarding crop selection and pricing.
- Maintain accurate records of production, expenses, and inventory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in farm management, with a strong understanding of agricultural operations.
- Familiarity with H2A regulations and experience managing H2A programs.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining agricultural equipment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
- Willingness to relocate to middle Indiana.
