Niman Ranch is part of Perdue Farms, a family-owned company heading into its second century of growth and innovation.OverviewAssist in all aspects of farrowing and lactation and meeting weekly shipping targets of full-value pigsAbility to operate and manage GESTAL farrowing feeder systemEnsure that ALL animals across the farm have received proper feed, water, ventilation, and bedding on a daily basisAssist with all other aspects of the farm to ensure farm goals are met and tasks are completed on a daily basisPrincipal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesEnsure proper procedures are followed for Day-One pig, fosteringProcessing of piglets in accordance with company proceduresProper treatment/care of sows in farrowingMaintain cleaning/bedding of farrowing pens; and clean-out and disinfecting farrowing room after weaningKeep, communicate, and report accurate records on a daily basisNotify and discuss openly with management any problems, concerns or questionsConserve farm resources such as supplies, equipment, and timePromote cooperation within the unit and contributes to adequate staffingCommunicate openly and freely with othersAny other duties as assigned, requested, or directed by management/supervisorEducation/RequirementsMinimum of High School Diploma or equivalentExperience working with and caring for livestockAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Ability to lead by example, and work with a team of 2-5 peopleAbility to problem solve, be a critical thinker, goal oriented, and a team playerPerdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
