Job DescriptionBASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Foster Care Homes Recruiter/Developer engages community and individuals, piquing interest in foster and adoptive families. Develops and monitors foster parents through the licensure process and is a resource for the families.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSDevelops and implements a foster care and adoption recruitment plan including purpose, specific goals, plan of action with timeline, and estimated costs (in accordance with Recruitment and/or Program Director)Continually engages all prospective families until foster care license is received.Recruits foster and adoptive families through advertisements, contacts, speaking engagements, community activities, and/or referring agencies.Participates in team meetings, sharing pertinent information regarding recruitment and resource development.Conducts PRIDE training for prospective resource families.Complete referral process for all prospective families.Accountable for implementation of recruitment plan.Coordinates licensing through DFPS.Maintain family's engagement with Saint Francis from initial contact until PRIDE and verification is complete.Participates in preparation of monthly foster parent newsletters.Develops and monitors corrective action and partnership development plan with foster parents when they are out of compliance or need growth in specific areas.Provides case management services and fills in for other staff as needed.Completes written documentation in staff, client, and foster family files in a concise and timely manner.Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms.Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures.Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels.Ensures clients' rights are protected.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrefer a minimum of 40 hours in-service education per year.Other duties as assignedRequirementsMINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum of 2 years of experience working in child welfare direct service.Bachelor's degree in human services field from an accredited college or university.PRIDE leader preferred.Must be 21 years of age.Must pass a drug screen, MVR, Criminal History and DFPS History Check, Centralized Background Check Unit Texas Health and Human Services Eligibility and any background checks deemed to be necessary.FBI Fingerprint Check.Lifting requirements 50 lbs.Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving and reliable transportation.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESMandated reporter.Flexible Work Schedule.Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.Outgoing, engaging personality with ability to speak to large and small groups.Self-motivated and capable of managing own schedule.Must be a team player.Ability to travel throughout the State.Manages emotions and can make decisions under pressure.Organizational Skills.Handles multiple priorities.Independent Discretion/decision making within the scope and responsibility of the position.Manages stress appropriately.Works alone effectively.Works in close proximity to others and/or in a distracting environment.Understands practices Universal Precautions.
