Job DetailsResponsibilities:
- Serve as litigation counsel, overseeing a wide range of litigation cases, including product liability, class action, advertising, regulatory, commercial, and other civil matters.
- Manage litigation and pre-litigation disputes, develop and implement litigation strategy, and collaborate with business units to identify and mitigate potential litigation risks.
- Provide counsel for the defense and resolution of lawsuits, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and conduct cost-benefit analysis to identify risks.
- Recommend alternative dispute resolution methods when necessary.
- Identify potential litigation or regulatory risks and provide advice to minimize exposure.
- Offer legal guidance on risk management, compliance, company policies, corporate governance, and operational issues.
- Contribute to strategic goals as a proactive member of the legal team and as a partner with other business and legal counsel.
- Collaborate with leadership to address changes in laws, regulations, and the business environment.
- Serve as the advisor for legal hold issues, e-discovery, and subpoenas.
- Develop and implement strategies for managing the litigation budget.
- Work with Legal Operations to select and manage outside counsel and experts.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and agencies regarding product issues, inspections, and inquiries.
- Partner with business units in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
- Advise senior leadership on legal issues, providing analysis and possible legal solutions.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Licensed to practice law, NY preferred.
- Extensive litigation experience at a law firm and/or in-house.
- Proven track record in managing complex litigation.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with various teams.
- Ability to navigate a complex environment.
- Highly motivated, efficient, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strategic and creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and manage people.
- Outstanding research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to lead projects with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate successfully with legal and business colleagues in a dispersed organization.
