Salary will be determined in accordance with current pay policy. Employees are normally hired at the minimum of the salary range. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a highly advanced position requiring a minimum of eight (8) years of professional work experience in the commercial construction field. The position is responsible for managing all phases of fixed capital outlay projects, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and new projects performed by Contract and Force Accountant procedures. This position serves as an Electronic team lead and advisor to other staff as well as a manager of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and construction projects wherein he/she maintains complete responsibilities and administrative control. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Administers construction projects accomplished by a Construction Manager or General Contractor.
- Administers and supervises construction projects accomplished by agency personnel and inmate labor.
- Develops work plans, project budgets, and project schedules.
- Oversees the establishment of work crews.
- Prepares materials and cost estimates.
- Prepares schedules of values.
- Establishes specifications, prepares bid packages, analyzes bids and recommends awards, reviews and approves shop drawings.
- Makes periodic visits to job sites to review the progress and reviews and resolves construction problems.
- Reviews and approves invoices.
- Briefs supervisors on the progress of projects, conducts substantial and final inspections and certifies completions, assures compliance by staff with contract documents and specifications, and provides coordination between all parties involved.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of research/date collection techniques.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in the commercial construction field.
- Minimum of three (3) or more years of project management
- Minimum of three (3) or more years of experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS: - Preference will be given to applicants with Electronics experience.
- A Florida commercial contractor's license in one or more trades of general building.
- Formal training and/or education on construction management or trades, architecture, or engineering.
- Training and/or experience in the issues related to the Security of inmates and tools on a construction site inside the secure perimeter of an institution.
