Job Description:
Our client is a commercial construction company headquartered in Flowood, Mississippi, working with private owners, developers, governmental agencies and other partners. They are committed to hard work and continuous improvement as well as the highest standards of safety, quality and service. Their team members have proven track records of success and integrity with considerable experience designing, estimating, building and managing projects. They are currently building a new Federal Government sector of the business and are looking for military candidates who have extensive experience in military construction.Candidates must have knowledge about every stage of the construction process from scope development to project closeout. The Project Manager would be responsible for multiple projects at one time, and will be responsible for obtaining permits, planning, directing, coordinating and supervising construction to ensure an on-time, on-budget project execution with high quality and no safety issues.Responsibilities include the following:- Manage project from proposal stage through closeout- Handle-ing any issues that arise resulting from unforeseen conditions- Manage subcontractors, vendors and consultants through project completion- Communicate with project team regarding ASIs, RFIs and material submittals- Working with Pre-Construction and Field Supervision to identify and implement all contract deliverables, quality testing, and report requirements- Coordinating with Quality Control and Safety representatives- Coordinate the required inspections with local and federal jurisdictions- Direct project activities to ensure conformance to project budget, plans, specs, and schedule- Create staging, logistics, and phasing plan for the project- Be responsible for project startup, including obtaining permits and licenses and managing jobsite mobilization- Preside over pre-construction meetings with each subcontractor- Attend all OAC progress meetings and create monthly status reports- Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate work- Ensure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work- Enter and update information in project management software (job status reports, projects, change orders, and RFIs)- Develop and administer subcontractor and purchase order change orders- Review projects, labor reports, safety documents, and schedules on a monthly basis- Review and approve material/equipment invoices according to project budgetTraining, specialized experience, and certifications:- 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education- 5 to10 years of federal new build, renovation and repair type construction- Management of design build and bid build projects- Ability to help decipher and solve technical issues relating to construction- Strong customer service ability- Skilled in conflict resolution- Good understanding of legal processes- Able to maintain morale within group and foster an environment of strong team spirit- Ability to inspire trust and respect- Support growth from within the companyBase salary, $80 - $120K, with a possible annual bonus depending on the group's success.
