Together, let's make a positive impact and empower the next generation of leaders.Job SummaryThe Emergency Preparedness Assistant will support the Emergency Management Coordinator in planning, organizing, and implementing campus-wide emergency preparedness initiatives. This role offers a valuable opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in emergency management, public safety, and crisis response planning.Responsibilities* Assist in developing and distributing emergency preparedness materials, including brochures, posters, and online content.* Help organize and conduct emergency drills, training sessions, and workshops for faculty, staff, and students.* Maintain and update emergency contact lists, emergency supplies inventories, and preparedness plans.* Participate in the creation and revision of emergency response plans and procedures.* Support the coordination of campus-wide safety events and fairs.* Conduct research on best practices in emergency management and propose improvements for campus safety.* Assist in the management and dissemination of emergency alerts and notifications.* Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining records.* Perform other related duties as assigned by the Emergency Management Coordinator.Required Qualifications* Must have a Federal Work Study award.* Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.* Must be in good academic standing and maintain good standing for the duration of employment.* Must be in good conduct standing with the Office of Student Integrity and maintain good conduct for the duration of employment.Preferred Qualifications* Strong interest in emergency management, public safety, or related fields.* Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.* Strong written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.USG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
