Location: Glen Head,NY, USA
Student will work for the LIU College of Veterinary Medicine at the Marion Carll Farm Campus.
Primary responsibilities will include farm upkeep and daily care of ruminant livestock.
Requirements:
* Must be enrolled in LIU-CVM, Post campus
* This position requires weekend and holiday partial-day spilt shifts, covering both morning and late afternoon/evening duties.
* The student must be comfortable in a farm environment and in handling animals of one or more species. Some prior experience of working with farm animals is preferred.
* The students will follow standard operating procedures, document their work activities and observations, and regularly communicate with the Marion Carll Farm Veterinarian and/or the farm's full-time caretakers.
* On-the-job training to operate a skidsteer loader is required.
* The successful candidate will possess strength and endurance, be able to lift 50 pounds, and withstand the demands and rigor of an outdoor job in all weather conditions.
* The student will dependably and thoroughly close and secure the facility.
