We are hiring exceptional therapists with CBT expertise

We are looking to hire exceptional, self-motivated therapists with training and expertise in CBT and/or other evidence-based treatment modalities (e.g., DBT, ACT) to join our collegial practice.

To be considered for this role, you must be a licensed mental health professional (NY license required, NJ and CT preferred).

This is a hybrid role and you have the flexibility to determine your own caseload and schedule of clients. Clinicians are expected to schedule 20-25 clinical hours each week and this role requires 10+ hours per week in-person at our Manhattan, NY office (with additional 10+ virtual hours). We have additional offices in Scarsdale (NY), Pine Brook (NJ), Stamford (CT), and Greenwich (CT).

Compensation will vary according to training and experience. Full-time clinicians billing 20+ hours weekly can expect $125-215K with 4 weeks of time off.

This is a full-time, W2 role, including the following benefits:

Training

At CBTAA, therapists have the opportunity to engage in clinical consultation with master CBT therapists. Dr. Jason Duncan, founder of CBTAA, is an expert CBT practitioner who has trained at leading CBT institutions, including the Beck Institute and The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy, and holds leadership roles with NYC-CBT and ABCT. He is the host of Sanity Podcast, ABCT s first official podcast collaboration, where he interviews renowned CBT experts (Get a better sense of Jason s personality by listening to Sanity He is known for his knowledge of clinical theory and implementation of exposure-based principles. Dr. Duncan is warm and easy to connect with for patients and collaborators alike, and is committed to providing the best resources and support possible to his team.

Dr. Scott Waltman is a master clinician at the forefront of modern CBT. With a wealth of experience as a clinician, international trainer, bestselling author, and clinical researcher, Dr. Waltman brings a unique blend of expertise, insight, and compassion to his work. He specializes in case-conceptualization driven therapy and is known for his extensive knowledge of therapeutic tools and cutting-edge strategies. He has achieved multiple advanced certifications in CBT, including ABPP certification. He is President-Elect and a full Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies, board member for the International Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Global Ambassador for the World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, and editor of Advances in Cognitive Therapy.

Dr. Robert Hindman was a faculty member at the Beck Institute for a decade one of the leading international CBT training organizations established by the renowned CBT founder, Dr. Aaron Beck and was instrumental in developing and disseminating many of the organization s CBT trainings. During his time there, he trained countless clinicians at the international level, through individual/group consultation and providing comprehensive workshops and seminars. He also worked at the systems level by helping organizations develop specialized treatment programs to revamp their approach to client care. Beyond his deep expertise in CBT, Dr. Hindman is known for his extensive knowledge in integrating mindfulness into treatment. In addition to individual clinical consultation, Dr. Hindman hosts group consultation sessions at CBTAA.

As part of their training experience, clinicians at CBTAA have the opportunity for their sessions to be reviewed and scored by Dr. Waltman and Hindman, both who have years of experience doing so as part of main CBT accrediting bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the best care possible to diverse patient populations in line with clinical best practices and ethical standards
  • Implement evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT; tailoring interventions to individual client needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues and engage in comprehensive case consultations and formulation
  • Engage in continuing education on latest technologies, methodologies, and practices in the field
  • Timely completion of progress notes and client on-boarding/off-boarding processes
  • Additional opportunities for Psychological Evaluations to supplement therapy work (for Psychologists)

Qualifications

  • Masters-level education or higher in counseling/therapy (Psychologist, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT)
  • Expertise in CBT or other evidence-based treatments (e.g., DBT, ACT), with experience with child, couples and/or family therapy preferred
  • Licensed in NY required, NJ and CT preferred
  • Self-motivated and driven to provide the best possible care for clients
  • Kind, warm, and positive personality
  • Collaborative individual who enjoys working in a supportive network of clinicians
  • Strong desire to learn and grow as a clinician, with a sense of curiosity
