Job Details:External Posting Summary:This position will be responsible for operating unloading equipment to unload all incoming bulk ingredients on trucks and/or on railcars following Packers and Stockyards Procedures.
Tasks: Must be willing to operate unloading equipment to unload ingredients on railcars and/or trucks. Must be willing to collect samples from each load and document the unloading of each load. Must be willing and able to open doors on railcars. Must be willing and able to operate locomotive and railroad switches. Must be willing and able to use a sledgehammer to get product flowing from railcars properly, climb stairs repeatedly, walk the length of the railroad track to check for problems, and record railcar information. Must be willing to keep all work areas clean which includes sweeping and shoveling out pits and scale area with a broom, shovel, and a dustpan if needed. Must be willing and able to assist in general repair of equipment. Must be willing to inform supervisor of needed repairs to equipment. Must be willing to follow all Company and Feed Mill Safety Rules. Must be willing to perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements:Schedule: Sunday - Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.Must be willing to work flexible hours which includes working overtime, holidays, and weekends.Must have basic computer skills. Must have basic mechanical skills. Must have an Alabama Driver License with a good driving record. Must be able to read and write for documentation. Must have good communication skills. Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors for 5 days a week from 8 up to 12 hours a day per week. Must be capable of climbing ladders or stairs. Must be willing to be transported in a man-lift occasionally. Must be willing to work in an elevated area-top floors of the mill or on top of the mill. Must be willing to use an 8 lb. to 12 lb. sledgehammer. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to rotate and/or cross-train on other jobs. Must be able to withstand working in extreme hot and cold environments. Feed Mill or Railroad experience is preferred, but not required.
Must have six (6) months of Machine Operator experience. Must have six (6) months of continuous work history with one (1) employer within the last twenty-four (24) months. Rehire Consideration:- 180 days (6 months) waiting period
