We're seeking the right individual to join our team as a summer feed manufacturing intern. You'll deep-dive into the equipment and operations side of feed milling and production. You will cover our eleven high-tech, commercial mills and be responsible for providing solutions and information to our feed team, which may include:
- Batch mixing and grinding. Work with computer automated equipment to produce feed
- Operate and regulate computer systems. Work with PLC's and desktop systems to manage and track the milling process
- Gather, deliver and implement data to drive company performance
- Regulatory compliance overview
- Interpret and implement customer-specified formulations and quality guidelines.
- Evaluate feed production processes for potential efficiencies
- Equipment maintenance
- Scheduling and tracking feed transportation fleet.
NEW Cooperative is committed to providing the valuable learning experience that takes place in a successful internship. As part of your internship experience, you will be assigned a project(s) to plan and complete, which may include conducting research, interviews and testing ideas. This is your opportunity to learn hands-on! The topic of the project will be determined based on your interests and available opportunities within the company. It is vitally important that you are team-oriented, hard working, and have strong communication, leadership and time-management skills. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and should be working towards a 4-year college degree in agriculture, precision ag/ag systems technology, and/or milling sciences. You do not need to have past feed mill experience, but you must have a strong willingness to learn throughout the summer!Feed manufacturing interns can anticipate a competitive hourly wage with paid overtime. Previous feed interns at NEW have earned $7500-$11,000 during their internships! This position also offers competitive benefits, including:
