Job Title: Fertilizer Production Manager

Location: Gadsden County

Reports To: Director of Cultivation

ROLE SUMMARY

The Fertilizer Production Manager will be an integral part of the Trulieve Cultivation department, reporting to the Director of Cultivation. This role will focus on the timely manufacturing and delivery of fertilizer to the cultivation teams. The ideal candidate will be familiar Inventory management and Good Manufacturing Practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

  • Attain OSHA 30 Certification - Training provided by Trulieve
  • Ensure that chemicals are stored, handled, labeled and disposed of properly by following SDS sheets and by adhering to government regulatory agency regulations
  • Ensure that team members are wearing the required PPE in the manner the manufacturer intended for the tasks being performed - verify by reviewing the SDS sheets
  • Adhere to and enforce all Trulieve Safety Policies, Procedures and SOPs
  • Complete Incident Investigation for accidents and near misses in a timely manner (within 48 hours of becoming aware of an issue)
  • Ensure that HSE is auditing fire extinguishers and eye wash stations
  • Ensure that annual FIT testing is being conducted
  • Develop training guidelines for formulating nutrient mixes

Quality

  • Ensure quality control and record retention of nutrient batches produced
  • Daily inventory management via inventory count sheet, including weekly and monthly cycle counting and GI/GR documentation as needed, digital asset control, ordering using demand planning methodology, maintaining par levels, receiving and shipping
  • Verify that the Fertilizer Production Supervisor is completing process orders to virtually convert raw materials into finished products
  • Verify that the Fertilizer Production Supervisor is filling out the excel batch sheet with requisite information
  • Verify that the Fertilizer Production team is completing the EC/temperature checks each day when that specific batch is completed
    • Ensure that samples collected are archived in the retain area in chronological order
  • Measure and document inventory daily using quantitative methods
  • FIFO raw materials in storage and order on an appropriate demand planning basis by keeping the average of raw materials to a month or less (excludes Micronutrients and surfactant since these are ordered in bulk and have longer lead times)

Production

  • Collaboration with the cultivation leadership teams to diagnose nutrient related plant health concerns
  • Accurately tracking the costs of fertilizer production for each site and state to provide budget models
  • Responsible for following Good Manufacturing Practices, respirator and PPE use in accordance with label requirements
  • Enter work request into eMaintenance in a timely manner (within 48 hours or less)
  • Ensure that IBC totes are filled and staged for shipping once completed

Cost

  • Track savings annually and unit cost
  • Determine and approve appropriate shipping invoices in a timely manner (48 hours or less)

Delivery

  • Complete shipping documentation accurately per DOT guidelines: SAP Manifest for Trulieve & Bill of Lading with third-party logistics
  • Ship finished product on a FIFO basis
  • Schedule finished product shipments nationwide (SAP GUI & Fiori) by generating Purchase Orders
  • Order fulfillment customer service:
    • In-State: 48 hours or less (641 movements)
    • Out-of-State: 96 hours or less (643 movements)

Morale

  • Conduct monthly 1:1 and manage team member performance
  • Conduct annual performance reviews

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or similar S.T.E.M. field of study
    • Also 5+ years of heavy equipment operator experience with a vocational certification
  • 3-years minimum experience
  • Familiarity with chemical formulations and fertilizer blending principles
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Flexibility of hours some nights and weekends required
  • SAP S4 Hana proficiency (3+ years of experience)

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA and WV)
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, and visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)
  • Ability to pass fit testing for respirator use while working around aerosolized particulate

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available after hours if an emergency situation should arise.
